A central place in the Greater Paris Metropolis

In its capacity as a stakeholder committed to the development of the Greater Paris Metropolis, Groupe BPCE has been based in Charenton since 1990. In 2022, more than 5,500 employees work at three sites spread between Place de la Coupole, Avenue de la Liberté and Avenue du Général-de-Gaulle.

Created in January 2013, the intermunicipal authority of the Greater Paris Metropolis has a population of 7.2 million and includes the city of Paris, 123 municipalities in the three departments of the Hauts-de-Seine, Seine-Saint-Denis, and Val-de-Marne, and seven municipalities in the Essonne and Val-d’Oise. For Paris Rive Gauche, the emergence of the Greater Paris Metropolis creates a favorable new geographical identity. Long relegated to the fringes of the capital, the district has now acquired a central place of prime importance.

In this new context, two major projects are transforming the district’s structure: first, the extension of subway line 14 to Orly and line 10 to Ivry and, subsequently, Vitry-sur-Seine, which will further enhance its accessibility and centrality; second, the creation of a veritable ecosystem devoted to health, an area naturally relevant to Paris Rive Gauche considering that the district is already home to Europe’s largest hospital complex, the Pitié-Salpêtrière, in addition to various research bodies such as the Brain & Spinal Cord Institute.

Finally, the organization of the Olympic & Paralympic Games Paris 2024 is mobilizing a great many players, including Groupe BPCE, the Game’s first Premium Partner. The choice of Paris to host these games provides immense leverage to further enhance the appeal and transformation of the Greater Paris Metropolis and other parts of France by launching the construction of infrastructures destined to provide local residents with long-term benefits.

Groupe BPCE in the neighborhood

The history of Groupe BPCE is closely tied up with the neighborhood. It was founded here in 2009, and several of its entities have moved here over the years, such as the Communauté BPCE or Global Financial Services… not to mention its corporate headquarters, now located in the famous BPCE Towers at 7 promenade Germaine-Sablon (Paris).
