The BPCE towers, a symbolic representation of our faith in the future

Interview with François Codet, CEO of insurance at Groupe BPCE until november 2023.

Groupe BPCE’s decision to invest in the Duo Towers and become a 50/50 co-owner alongside Ivanhoé Cambridge was a real challenge and the start of a great adventure.

Although plans for the group’s new corporate headquarters initially focused on extending the offices already on Avenue de France, it was finally decided to choose the towers for the group’s official address. This office complex occupying a building that meets the most stringent technical and environmental standards offers a number of advantages located, as it is, within the borders of Paris and enjoying easy access to major transport links.

By virtue of their iconic architecture and visibility, the Duo Towers represent a major milestone in urban planning. Symbols of the group’s openness, they express its essential modernity and the dynamism of its brands. They also represent an emblematic asset acquisition for the group in its capacity as an investor, as well as a profitable real estate investment in the French capital.

“Beyond considerations of an asset-building nature, we were particularly interested, from an operational point of view, in bringing together a large number of our people on the same site to foster greater cooperation and informal exchanges,” explains François Codet, CEO Insurance, for Groupe BPCE, a co-investor in the project.

This project also anticipates developments on all the group’s other sites that will be harmonized to the same standards of service and welcome, as emphasized by Xavier Douard, head of real estate strategy and asset management within BPCE’s Workplace department: “I was involved in the project from the very outset when the towers were leased in March 2017. This was a great event in the world of real estate because we set a new record for volumes taken by a single occupant in high-rise buildings in Paris. But the towers project is more than the project per se: it represents the launching pad for a more global real estate master plan for Groupe BPCE.”

All the actors contributing to this project have something in common: a shared excitement and sense of pride in having contributed to concretizing a long-lasting symbol. “We share the satisfaction of moving into these premises, our new corporate headquarters that we designed and developed together after five years of construction work. It sends a strong signal to all our stakeholders, customers, employees, and everyone who will see these towers on the Parisian skyline. Getting involved in such a large-scale project means trusting in the future and in our potential for further growth and leadership in our industry,” concludes François Codet.
